January 2021 is going to be a special month for Samsung. Samsung is going to release its Galaxy series mobile phones Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra. Along with the Galaxy series, Samsung is also rolling out Galaxy Buds Pro, a pair of truly Wireless Earbuds. There are leaked reports that alongside the Galaxy series, Samsung will also launch its Tile like Smart Tracking device called Galaxy SmartTag. Samsung is going to focus more on SmartThings in 2021.
What is Samsung Galaxy SmartTag?
According to live images surfaced on the web from last month, SmartTag is a Bluetooth tracking device just like the Tile Tracker. The 91mobiles revealed the SmartTag images and leaked the SmartTag certification from Taiwan’s regulatory authority NCC. According to NCC certification, the device name is Samsung SmartTag, and it resembles mostly with Tile tracker device.
The SmartTag will help you to keep track of your personal things like wallets, keys, remote controllers, earbuds, and many more. And you can easily find your lost items that you have attached with this tracker.

How Will SmartTag Work?
The SmartTag will be a tracking device, and it will use Bluetooth to connect with nearby devices and broadcast its location. So, you can find the device with the help of the tracking community if you lost your attached device. It will use the Samsung tracking app SmartThings Find to locate your lost devices. Since Samsung begin to use Google Assistant, They will implement the integration during the release.
Specs of SmartTag
Samsung did not disclose any specifications of SmartTag neither revealed from the NCC certifications. But as per earlier leaks and rumors, SmartTag will be equipped with Bluetooth v5.1. The SmartTag will be compatible with the Samsung SmartThings Find app and functions like the Tile tracker.
According to GSM Arena, the SmartTag is equipped with a replaceable 3V standard button cell battery. It means you can replace the battery when it kaput. This feature is similar to the latest Tile tracker devices like Tile Pro and Tile Mate, as early Tile trackers have to be thrown when the battery dies.
The NCC revealed SmartTag in black color, but it is also reported to have oatmeal color. According to NCC pics, SmartTag is in a square, a rounded shape having a hole for a lanyard strap. The Samsung branding is engraved on the back of the device.
Price
No price declaration from Samsung, but leaks suggest that it would be around $18 to capture the market while competing with Tile tracker.
Availability
Samsung is launching its Galaxy series mobiles Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra and Galaxy Buds Pro on January 14. The rumors speculate that you will get this excellent SmartTag tracker along with other Samsung products on January 14.
