Nowadays, users realize how important it is to stay secure and updated on their OS. Also, Manufacturers like Samsung realized this case lately. But, they are taking a lot of actions from their side to give importance to the Software updates and security patch updates. Samsung’s TouchWiz UI is not bad. But, It feels laggy. After the One UI release, Samsung attracted most of the developers. When you use Custom skin OS, you have to provide a lot of unique things on your mobile. That’s what Samsung is doing with its One UI. After the One UI 1.0, they released 1.5 with slightly added features based on Pie 9.0. After 1.5, They released One UI 2.0 based on Android 10 version. Also, Samsung released its list of compatible Galaxy mobiles that are going to get the Android 10 version.
The launch of One UI is like a big jump for Samsung. They realized what users love towards UI. Samsung has a habit of releasing two major upgrades for a mobile. It is flagship or mid-range that doesn’t matter. So, with this rule, you can guess which phone is in the Android 10 list. I will order the mobiles from flagship to the low-mid range order below. Google advise the manufacturers to provide compulsory three-year support for every Android mobile. So, there is a chance Flagship mobile may get three significant upgrades. But, it purely depends on the Samsung decision.
Samsung Galaxy Mobiles Official list that is going to get Android 10 One UI 2.0 (With Model Numbers)
The following mobiles are confirmed to get Android 10. But the timeframe may vary depending on the mobiles. Mid-range mobiles always get late updates. But, it is not the case after the One UI. Because Samsung Galaxy M30 got Android 10 before some flagship mobiles. So, Only Samsung knows when they are going to roll out the updates. I ignored the new mobiles that are coming with Android 10 in the following list. These setup of mobiles are in Pie and ging to get Android 10.
Note
Samsung maintains unlocked mobile software updates. So, You will get the updates as per the Samsung schedule. But carrier-locked mobiles have to go through the Mobile Operators so, the timeline may vary. Especially US Mobile Operators. Sometimes the unlocked mobiles get updates, and the carriers don’t roll out the updates forever. So, The Upgrade process depends on a lot of criteria.
Samsung Galaxy Mobile Model code explanation
Each mobile variant has some further model numbers based on the region. Unlike other mobiles like Global ROM, Samsung have each region special features. So, the mobiles have additional codes. I will give an overall explanation. So, that you won’t get confused by model numbers. You can find the mobile model number in Settings>About.
Example- Samsung Galaxy S10 International Exynos processor model number is – SM-G973F.
Here, SM-G973 is a standard value among the S10 mobiles. The final letter defines the region.
- F-International Mostly Exynos processor
- N- Asia
- U- the United States with carrier-locked bootloaders (AT&T, Verizon, Metro PCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile).
- U1- Unlocked Bootloader. You can use any carrier.
- W- Canada
- 0/8- China Region.
Before the S9 model, each mobile carrier has its code. They are old mobiles. So, I consider only Android 10 getting mobiles. You can also refer to how to select the correct firmware article If you try to sideload the firmware and full list of region codes.

Wrap Up
Samsung is not as fast as Google when rolling out updates. But, you should know one thing, If you receive regular patch updates, It doesn’t mean the update is useful. Unlike Google, Samsung follows 60-90 days of updates, along with enhanced features and bug fixes. So, It will take time for Samsung to do the software updates process. Also, Long list mobiles in different category delay the process. When you find your mobile got the Android 10. You can always update your mobile using a software update option in settings. Before making updates follow some pre-requirement steps like backup your mobile. But, when you can’t do the regular Automatic OTA process, you can flash the firmware using ODIN.
Selecting correct firmware is the Major step in the manual process. Based on your country or region, choose the firmware. It is a Manual ODIN process; You can flash the latest version. If you can’t find your area, you can flash the near region firmware. But, It should be within the same model number. After the flash, you can contact your Mobile Operator and configure your Network settings.
As I mentioned earlier, only International variants always receive regular updates. Carrier locked, and region variant mobiles are considered second. But, this rule is slowly changing now. We hope soon all the Samsung mobiles will receive guaranteed updates in time. I listed all of the mobiles in the One UI 2.0 list. When you find I missed any mobile, comment below.
