After Qualcomm released its Mid-Range 5G series chipsets, Redmi launched its First Mid-Range 5G phone K30 series under $300. Most of the users thought the 5G Network would only available in Flagship mobiles. But, Redmi broke this limit. After Redmi K30 5G version, Realme launched its first 5G Phone- X50. The Specs are mostly the same between the two devices, including dual punch hole Display. But, The Realme phone designs are great compare with the Redmi Phones. The X50 price starts from $360 for 8 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM variants, which is also approximately the same with the Redmi options. In India, the price range may reduce further. We can see the actual price once they are available in the Indian region. I will mention all the specs and prices. Also, I compared both Redmi and Realme 5G Phones. Based on your needs, choose the best one.
When Realme launched the new X50 5G Series?
Back in December 2019, they planned to announce the Mid-range 5G versions. They waited for the Qualcomm new 865 and 765 series announcement. After the official event, Realme announced the new X50 5G series on January 7, 2019. The launch event is exclusive for this version. There are no other variants published with this mobile. Unlike Redmi K30, Realme launched this X50 series only with the 5G variant mobiles. The Specs are moreover the same between both mobiles.

Display
When making cost-effective phones, there should be some compromises. Realme launched the X50 series with the LCD Display. When we think why LCD, they compromise us with the 120Hz Screen that looks like Samsung S10 Plus like notch for dual front camera setup. If they added AMOLED Display with this refresh rate, Thr price could go further. Realme LCD Displays are not bad. They are better to compare with some poor LED Displays. It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Support. There are no details about the display that supports HDR10, which is best when gaming and watching movies. Redmi K30 supports HDR10. So, With a 6.67 inch 120Hz Refresh rate, If you play supporting games, the experience will be great.
Processor
5G version comes with a 765G processor. If you don’t know about the new 765G processor, Qualcomm announced Flagship processor 865 and Mid-Range variant 765 in the December 2019 event. They also announced a 765G processor, Which can perform 20% better GPU compare with the regular version. There are a lot of features that are added to the 765G processor. Other Specs
- It comes with the 4200 mAh Battery.
- 30W Fast Charging (VOOC Flash Charge 4.0).
- NFC- Added Multi-Function support.
- Finger Print sensor added in the side frame. My guess is there may be some issues in adding in the Display fingerprint sensor with 120Hz Screen. So, they decided to put the sensor inside. It is still better than the Rear fingerprint sensor. You can access the sensor without lifting the phone from the table, which comes handy in most of the situations.
- Bluetooth 5.0.
- Ports- USB Type-C and 3.5mm Headphone Jack.
Pricing
In Tech, everything gets the value based on the price. Realme is always making cost-effective phones like Xiaomi.

But, If you buy a phone, you will use that for at least 2-3 Years. These mobiles are the Upper Mid-Range category. So, they can survive this much duration. But, Redmi variants start from $284 (6+64 GB). When we compare the specs, the Same 8+128 GB Variant in Realme is $360, Where Redmi K30 5G 8+128GB Variant is $369. So, the price range varies only $10(Approx).
