The problem with recent 5G mobiles in the US area is that some mobile operators only support UW band 5G. Thus, To access this bandwidth, you should have an exclusive mmWave antenna on your mobile. Regular 5G mobiles may not work with those carriers. Verizon Wireless 5G is one of those carriers. Every mobile manufacturer who doesn’t provide mmWave antenna by default has to release separate Verizon exclusive mobiles. The same goes for Nokia. Nokia 8.3 version of 5G mobile from them. But to support UWB 5G, Nokia has to release Nokia 8 V with mmWave antenna.
HMD Global, the mother company of Nokia phones, released the first Nokia 5G phone last month with the label Nokia 8.3. The company intends to launch the same Nokia 5G exclusively for Verizon but with a new brand name Nokia 8 V 5G UW.
Did Nokia officially declare Verizon Wireless Exclusive Nokia 8 V?
Nokia didn’t officially declare this launch, but a countdown video was posted on Nokia’s official YouTube channel removed later. That countdown video revealed that there would be a live stream held on November 9. This live stream is scheduled to launch the Nokia 8 V 5G UW smartphone exclusively for American biggest telecom company Verizon.
Expected specifications of Nokia 8 V Verizon Wireless 5G UW Smartphone
Nokia officially didn’t reveal any specifications of this smartphone. However, the rumors are that the new smartphone will have the same specs as of Nokia 8.3. If the Nokia 8 V 5G UW is identical to Nokia 8.3, then it will be a pretty configuration of 6.81-inch FHD+ display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolutions and a refresh rate of 120Hz. The Nokia 8.3 is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass having a hole-punch cutout for the 24MP selfie front camera.

Before removing the countdown video from the Nokia official YouTube channel, it was noted that the live stream event would be on November 11, and the phone brand is Nokia 8 V 5G UW. The term “UW” is a marketing term used only by Verizon for its 6GHz mmWave 5G Network. And that’s not a mystery.
However, it is not sure that the new Nokia 8 V 5G UW is indeed a rebrand of Nokia 8.3. Just think Nokia 8.3 is the first finished 5G handset by the company, then what else could replace it? Yes, there may be some spec variations or some coloration differences.
