These new systems are packed with updated hardware from the previous Lenovo Chromebooks. Apparently, the global pandemic situation has led to many new Ed-Tech solutions and the need for more affordable devices, especially in the education sector.
Lenovo’s New Chromebooks for the Educational Sector
The new Chromebooks are Lenovo 14e Gen 2 and 100e, 300e, 500e Gen 3 Chromebooks. According to the official news from Lenovo StoryHub on March 23:
Lenovo announced a new set of Laptops that can support education and a wide variety of apps related to learning. The Laptops are powered by Windows or Chrome OS. Laptops may come with AMD or Intel processor lineups. Along with the powerful OS and processors, The handbooks come with durability and better battery backup. Also, with an ergonomic stand touch-enabled ThinkVision T24t, They can enhance their learning experience.
These new laptops are packed with comprehensive education-focused software, services, and innovative solutions to help everyone into education and learning. Chrome-OS is lightweight and has been the preferred OS for creative solutions for the education sector.
Lenovo 100e Gen 3
The cheapest system in this new Chromebook series is the 100e Gen 3. It comes with an 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution and is powered by an AMD processor. This model has no upgrade option; it comes with just 4GB of RAM and 32GB storage space. The price starts at $299, and the available ports include a USB-C port for charging, dual USB-A ports for USB connections, a 3.5mm jack input, and a full-size HDMI port.
Lenovo 14e
Next up is the Gen 2 14-inch Lenovo 14e, which also comes with an unspecified AMD processor. It has 4 or 8GB RAM variants, and the storage space is up to 64GB. This system features the same ports as the 100e Gen 3. Also, it offers a few display options, including HD, FHD, and FHD touch-enabled options, and starts at $334.
300e Gen 3 Chromebook
Lenovo 300e Gen 3 Chromebook is the third system in the series. It is slightly higher priced than the Gen 2 system, starting at $359. The Lenovo 300e Gen 3 Chromebook comes with premium hardware and features, including a tilting touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass protection and a stylus for note-taking or annotation. This Chromebook offers 64GB of storage, accompanied by 4GB of RAM, and is powered by an AMD processor. Besides, it includes a 5-megapixel camera.
Lenovo 500e Gen 3
Lastly, the series included Lenovo 500e Gen 3, a more rugged system with more premium specs. It features an 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768 resolution protected with Gorilla Glass. Instead of an AMD processor, this system is equipped with an Intel Celeron N5100 processor, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Coming to the ports aspect, it features a USB-C Gen 3.2 port, dual USB-A ports, a full-size HDMI, and a microSD card reader. The price starts at $429.
