Sense, Versa 3, and Inspire 2 are the latest smartwatches that Fitbit launched in August 2020. These smartwatches shipped to users in late September. Today, Fitbit rolls out a software update for Sense and Versa 3 that will enable them to deliver the improved blood oxygen data (SpO2) to Google Assistant. This reading will be recorded automatically overnight.
Sense and Versa 3 smartwatches have the built-in support of the Alexa voice assistant. With this new update, you can select any of the voice assistant Alexa or Google assistant. However, Alexa is now enabled for audible replies with this update. Now you can ask Google assistant about your sleep and other nutrition facts with voice commands.

How to Setup Google Assistant in your Fitbit devices?
If you have Sense or Versa 3 smartwatches, then you can easily set up Google Assistant on your watch. Before setting, make sure your watches have been activated the firmware to the latest version. If you live in a country where Google Assistant is available, and you don’t see the assistant option, you should first update your watch to the latest firmware.
- Open the Fitbit app on your device and scroll down to find the voice assistant.
- Tapping the voice assistant will let you select the Google assistant as your voice assistant.
- You will find the wellness option from the Google assistant setting list, where you can manage your data about sleep, nutrition, and exercise.
- Currently, Fitbit is supporting only the “Sleep” option. Select this option and then tap “connect.”
- It will take you to the next page to agree on terms and conditions.
- You will then ask you to confirm your Google account to link with this watch.
How to use Google Assistant with Fitbit?
Once you setup the Google assistant with your watch, then you can ask such queries:
- Show my sleep summary.
- How did I sleep last night?
In reply, the assistant will tell you the exact time with hours and minutes about your sleep since last night. Your watch will not show any visual or graphs to demonstrate this data.
Is there any Privacy Concern?
Google confirmed that your data is stored temporarily to give you information about your sleep routine, and it will not be used for any other purposes.
Availability
Fitbit rolls out this update in the United States, Canada, Ireland, UK, India, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand. The rest of the countries will get this update in early 2021.
