It attracts most of the users and made decent sales. Because they have both mobile and gaming experience background, they implement good and useful features in the Asus ROG Phone. After the success of the first-gen, they released 2nd and third-gen. Now Asus is working on the 4th gen device. There are lots of rumors are here and there about the Specs and Release date. Now Asus officially announced they would be released ROG Phone 5 with Snapdragon 888 Processor on March 10, 2021. There is also a count down clicking on their official site.
On February 18, Asus confirmed that its flagship ROG smartphone is about the launch in a few weeks. The device will be called ROG Phone 5. Asus had skipped number 4 (their last device was ROG Phone 3) to produce this model. ROG Phone 5 is confirmed to launch in Taipei, Berlin, and New York, by March 10. The launch countdown has begun on the Asus website. This smartphone has been revealed to pack a bunch of good specs and chipsets inside the hood. While the event launch page on the Asus ROG website did not provide info about the device specs, below is all we’ve gotten so far from trusted sources.
Asus ROG Phone 5 Price and Release Date
The launch date is to be March 10, 2021, in three cities; Taipei (10 Mar. 07:00 PM(UTC+8)), Berlin (10 Mar. 12:00 PM(UTC+1)), and New York (10 Mar. 6:00 AM(UTC-5)). At the moment, there is no news about the official launch price of The ROG Phone 5; however, it’s definitely going to be an expensive smartphone considering the launch price of its predecessor, ROG Phone 3, $999 and €999.
Asus ROG Phone 5 Specs
According to Geekbench, the smartphone will run Android 11 with a Snapdragon 888 SoC processor coupled with 12/16 GB of RAM. The device is coming with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 144hz Refresh rate and integrates a dual-cell 6,000 mAh battery that supports up to 65W charging – you would never lose out of power with such battery capacity.
ROG Phone 5 will be available in two similar models: I005DA and I005DB. Both models will have almost the same specifications. We are yet to confirm the specs of the I005DB; thus, all specs mentioned in this article are for the I005DA model.
Reports from certifications companies such as DxOMark and TENAA validate most specifications of the ROG Phone 5 smartphone. The device will feature a 3.5mm jack port with ESS DAC support. There would be dual front-facing speakers and about four microphones. Coming over to the camera aspect, ROG Phone 5 flaunts a triple rear camera setup; a 64MP main camera, 13MP ultra-wide snapper, and 5MP macro lens.
Why Asus skipped No.4 in ROG Phone?
Why would Asus skip the number “4” and go to “5”? Well, there’s a Taiwanese/Chinese superstition that believes the number “4” is an “unlucky” number because it means almost the same as the Chinese word for “end.” OnePlus and Realme also skipped the number.
