We already know Apple Music is popular among iPhone users. There are a few plans are available as a subscription to access 85 million songs. The program starts from $9.99/month or $99/year. Now Apple announced a new Apple Music Voice Plan from $5/month. With the help of Siri, you can ask for any music to play or playlists. But it will work only with Siri-enabled devices. The plan is available all over the world. Some techies criticize this plan will force users to Siri for another purpose. It is a new way of promoting Siri. But with only $5, You can get access to the same Apple Music subscription features.
Have you been looking for a cheaper way to access the Apple Music catalog? Apple has finally got an answer for you. The new Apple Music Voice plan is quite affordable and grants you access to the entire Apple Music catalog. This new plan seems to be the “weirdest way to push Siri.”
Apple Music Voice Plan
Apple Music is built around Siri, and even though many Apple subscribers and users are not pleased with the voice assistant, Apple keeps doing its best to improve the service. Just recently, Apple released a new, cheaper subscription tier for its Apple Music subscribers. The new plan is called Apple Music Voice, and it goes for just a $5 per month fee. This plan seems to be meant for “casual listeners,” but it is suitable for everyone who wants to save some buck on Apple Music subscriptions.
What’s Available With This New Plan?
Interestingly, this new plan grants you access to the vast catalog of Apple Music, which contains over 90 million songs and lots of personalized mixes. Furthermore, you will gain access to Apple Music Radio with this plan.
According to Apple Music Vide President Oliver Schusser, “Apple Music and Siri are natural partners and already work seamlessly together. With Siri actively used on hundreds of millions of devices worldwide, we are thrilled to add this new plan that delivers an effortless music experience just by using your voice and makes Apple Music accessible to even more people around the world.”
These words from the V.President imply that you can subscribe to this new Apple Music plan by saying, “Hey Siri, start my Apple Music Voice trial.” Notwithstanding, you can sign up through the app itself, and you can for a song to be played across Siri-enabled devices. The devices include iPhones, AirPods, HomePod mini, and other Apple devices.
Furthermore, you can request specific songs or albums via Siri as Apple is rapidly expanding themed playlists to Siri; this means you can say commands like “Play the dinner party playlist,” and your connected device starts playing instantly. Well, there are things you can’t do with this plan.
What’re the Restrictions With The Apple Music Voice Plan?
Unfortunately, this plan does not work with the Apple Music app itself. What does it mean? It means that, since it is a “voice” plan, everything is done with the help of Siri. So, you cannot use this plan on the mobile app. Everything has to be done using Siri commands (as an Apple Music Voice Subscriber).
That said, if you want to play the latest music by your favorite article, you will do that by saying, “Hey Siri, play the new Drake song,” instead of navigating the Apple Music app to find the music and play it.
You can’t just use the app, and that’s the disadvantage of this plan.
Price and Availability
The price is $5 per month, and the plan is available in 17 countries and regions, including Austria, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, Taiwan, U.K., and the U.S.A.
Wrap Up
Apple Music Voice plan introduces a weird way to engage Siri in various activities. It is pretty affordable and lets you access the entire Apple Music library, but the restriction from enjoying the mobile app experience is quite not applaudable. When you have Homepod devices and are not an Apple Music plan and prefer Spotify on your mobile, you can buy Apple Music Voice Plan for your Voice control devices. It is wise to go for the entire program when you have an iPhone, giving more controls and additional features. Did you plan to buy Apple Music Voice Plan? Share your thoughts below.
